About Balcony Solar Advisor

Balcony Solar Advisor is an independent guide to plug-in solar in the United States. We explain how it works, what it really saves and what your state allows, with numbers you can check.

We don’t sell solar kits. Some links may earn us a commission; see the affiliate disclosure. That never changes what the calculator shows.

How we work

• Every claim about a law links to a source, and each state page shows when we last checked it.
• Every number comes from one published method.
• If you spot something out of date, tell us and we’ll fix it.
